Zero-Server Data Processing Architecture
SHAGenerator is designed from first principles as a zero-knowledge, client-side web application. All hashing calculations (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, SHA-3, Keccak, HMAC, CRC) execute strictly inside your local browser tab via the W3C Web Cryptography API. We operate no backend servers that process or receive user payloads.
1. Information We Do Not Collect.
Because computation occurs purely on your device:
- No Plaintext Inputs: We do not log, transmit, or retain any strings, passwords, or tokens typed into our generator tools.
- No File Contents: When you drag and drop or select a file for checksum verification, the file is read in memory chunks directly by your browser. No byte of your file is ever uploaded to our infrastructure or any third-party cloud.
- No Secret Keys: HMAC keys entered into our tools remain in local memory and are discarded as soon as you close or refresh the browser tab.
- No User Accounts or Tracking Cookies: We do not require registration, login, or persistent tracking cookies to use our tools.
2. Information Automatically Collected.
Like all standard web servers and content delivery networks (CDNs), our hosting infrastructure (e.g. Cloudflare / Vercel edge networks) may collect standard, non-personally identifiable technical telemetry to ensure site reliability, DDOS mitigation, and CDN caching:
- Browser user-agent, operating system, and language preference.
- Aggregated page visit timestamps and referring URLs.
- Anonymized IP addresses for geographic CDN routing and rate limiting.
3. Local Storage and Client-Side State.
Our application may use your browser's localStorage or sessionStorage solely to remember your user interface preferences (such as your chosen default encoding or uppercase/lowercase toggle). This data remains strictly on your local device and is never shared.
4. Third-Party Services & CDNs.
Our static assets, stylesheets, and fonts may be delivered via global content delivery networks (Google Fonts, Cloudflare CDN) to optimize page loading speed. These providers have their own privacy policies governing CDN edge traffic.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users have specific rights regarding personal data. Because SHAGenerator neither collects nor stores your personal data or submitted text, there is no personal data repository to inspect, export, or delete.
